Fabrication of Nano-Ag Encapsulated on ZnO/Fe2V4O13 Hybrid-Heterojunction for Photodecomposition of Methyl Orange

Novel silver encapsulated nanocomposite zinc oxide/iron tetra-poly-vanadate (Ag-ZnO/Fe2V4O13) was synthesized with various wt% of (1.0–2.5 Ag) by cost-effective photo-deposition method under the irradiation ultraviolet-A (UV-A) light. The nanostructure Ag-ZnO/Fe2V4O13 explored characterization techniques. surface functionalities were confirmed Fourier transform infrared spectra and crystalline nature material revealed X-ray diffraction patterns. Furthermore, morphology optical properties composites analyzed scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive X-ray–elemental color mapping (ECM), high-resolution transmission microscopy (HRTEM), ultraviolet–visible diffuse reflectance spectroscopy photoluminescence. crystallite size 28.5 nm which consistent HRTEM analysis. photocatalytic activity tested against aqueous methyl orange degradation UV-A light irradiation. In all five runs, stability catalyst reusability measurements almost 98% achieved. A suitable pathway proposed based on intermediates obtained during gas chromatography–mass spectrometry. Trapping experiments that superoxide radical anion (O2•−) considered as most active species for this process. Complete mineralization chemical oxygen demand.
